CHALLENGE
There were couple of challenges
- Addition of new products had been done manually after going through the supplier feeds manually.
- Products had to be updated manually when they were listed with multiple suppliers as the price kept varying.
- Old products that were no longer available in supplier feeds and inventory had to be manually removed.
SOLUTION
We had provided a Data Integration Platform, that unified all the supplier feeds along with their Shopify feed. Products are now managed with a click of a button. Updating, deletion and addition of products are now automated with cron synchronisation, i.e., they are triggered at a certain time of the day. On top of the data integration, the process feeds back to a visualisation on the home page helping the staff monitor the overall synchronisation process.
RESULTS
After the execution of the project, their inventory has grown by 250%. The manual process of managing the inventory has reduced significantly leading to focus on improving the business further. Further, we are planning to integrate more suppliers soon that would grow the inventory and thereby their sales.
Direct Computers had been procuring products from multiple suppliers. These products were sold through multiple channels and different markets across UK and Europe.
Summary
Direct Computers' manual inventory management was streamlined with a Data Integration Platform that unified supplier feeds and automated product updates, additions, and deletions. This led to a 250% inventory growth and significantly reduced manual processes, allowing the company to focus on further business improvements and future supplier integrations.
